Everybody wants to do a food truck, myself included. The problem is that Pittsburgh is not currently a very friendly place towards food trucks. There are rules and regulations on top of the red tape. But most of those rules and regulations apply to public spaces and business districts with competing restaurants within spitting distance. What if I were to provide a space (a sizable parking lot) to quality purveyors of mobile food stuffs on a regular basis? In hopes of creating a consistent home where small businesses knew that they would have an affordable venue from which to target an audience looking for tasty snacks in a different kind of environment. I would like to have this mobile food court of sorts up and running by the second weekend in June. At first, we will try Friday and Saturday evenings 8 p.m. – 2 a.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. If all goes well we will extend a further effort to create more opportunity on an even more frequent basis. For now, I am still working through the specifics with attorneys and insurance folks but all information is being very well received and we have gotten nothing but positive feedback. 

Our mobile food identity will likely be SNaCl with an ever changing cast of food and drink offerings.

Since a large percentage of people (both joking and not) refer to Salt of the Earth as Nackle, because of the periodic table inspired branding of N a C l, it just seems right.
